Announcing Libraries Strengthening Connections grant opportunity
Funding opportunity for public and tribal libraries
The State Library of North Carolina is excited to announce a new funding opportunity for public and tribal libraries. Libraries Strengthening Connections Grants will help libraries to support and increase digital literacy skills and services for public library staff and users.
This funding is to allow communities to be better equipped to fully engage in society, democracy, and the economy by enabling libraries and staff with the required skills and resources.
Funding will support a digital program or service that meets a specific need. Eligible applications will support a program or service in which library staff can transfer knowledge and skills learned to real digital problems in their communities.
A recorded webinar will be held on Tuesday, October 7 at 10:30 am for applicants interested in learning how to use the GMS to apply for SLNC grant opportunities.
This project is funded with a federal grant from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF), established under the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021. Funds were appropriated to the North Carolina Department of Information Technology (NCDIT), which then provided support for digital literacy programs across the state, including the State Library of North Carolina.
