Today, September 17, is National Voter Registration Day, a nonpartisan civic holiday celebrating democracy and getting Americans registered to vote! According to post 2020 election Census data, one in four Americans either are not registered to vote or do not know whether they are registered to vote. There are multiple ways your library can celebrate National Voter Registration Day:
Post on social media today with hashtags: #nationalvoterregistrationday and #voteready. Share: Welcome Video.
Find information on how to register to vote in North Carolina.
Learn about Acceptable forms of photo ID for the purpose of voting in North Carolina.
Help voters who may not have one of the common forms of ID learn how to obtain an ID: how to get a free voter photo ID.
Patrons may ask where their county board of elections office is located because it is one way to get a free voter photo ID. Here is the link to a map where a user can search for county boards of elections.
