The State Library of North Carolina is once again pleased to invite your library to celebrate National Voter Registration Day (NVRD) scheduled for September 17, 2024. NVRD is a nonpartisan civic holiday seeking to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities and voter resources. All North Carolina libraries are invited to participate, and the best part is that no celebration is too small. The goal is to celebrate in a way that works best for your library and community.
Example ways to celebrate:
Post about NVRD on social media to increase awareness of voting resources
Provide voter information on your website or create voter informational displays and handouts
Be a resource for patrons to confirm their voter registration status and polling place
Host a voter registration drive, using resources available from the State Library NVRD toolkit and directly from NVRD
We also encourage you to find local partners to celebrate with you and/or combine this event with National Library Card Sign-Up Month. How your library chooses to celebrate is up to you!
To participate this year, please register through this link to provide the State Library with your contact information and be directed to the NVRD partner form. Be sure to register as an NVRD partner as soon as possible to receive stickers and posters in time for your event. Â
For questions, please contact either Lauren Clossey or Lynda Reynolds.
